Electric Food Steamer

Posted on November 11, 2009. Filed under: Molly's Cool Product Picks | Tags: , |

Planning your meals for the holiday can be a trying experience. This year, I’m going to be planning healthy meals for my family (and yes, they are going to just love it!) and steaming my vegetables is going to play a big part in getting my family on the right foot. I really like this Electric Food Steamer that allows me to steam different types of food at once in 3 different chambers.

Food Steamer

Product Description:

Steaming retains more vitamins and nutrients than boiling, making this digital food steamer a great addition to your kitchen. The Electric Food Steamer offers a large 9-qt. capacity and can be used with 1, 2 or all 3 tiers depending on how much food you want to cook. Each tier has a removable base so you can create a larger cooking space, and this digital food steamer also includes a rice bowl for making perfect rice.

The Electric Food Steamer has a digital timer control allowing you to program steaming start time, and a drip tray collects liquid for making gravies and sauces. Other features of the digital food steamer include automatic keep warm function, easy-to-read water indicator mark, plus red and green indicator lights. The removable bases each have 6 molded egg slots, so you can also use the Electric Food Steamer for poaching and hard boiling eggs.

This year was the 29th Annual Quilt and Craft Auction for Metzenbaum Center.  The proceeds from this auction benefit the children and adults of Geauga County with mental retardation and developmental disabilities that receive services from Metzenbaum Center located on Cedar Rd in Chesterland, Ohio.

This is an event that is fun for the whole family.  The day begins with an all you can eat pancake breakfast at 7:00 AM- 10:00AM. There is the largest Amish Bake Sale you have ever seen.  We have a silent auction that spans three hallways and a cash and carry holiday shop for those a bit timid to bid in the silent or live auction.  The live auction begins at 10:00am and goes until approximately 4:00pm.  Items in the live auction are over 27 Beautiful Handmade Amish Quilts, numerous pieces of handcrafted Amish furniture like deacon’s benches, end tables, oak benches, children’s table, cutting boards and corner shelves.

In the silent auction there are baskets made by the classrooms, departments and parents and friends of Metzenbaum Center, jewelry, autographed items by area sports teams along with many gift certificates from local restaurants.

Funds are used to sponsor Special Olympics, Therapeutic horse riding, over night trips for smaller groups, funds to assist teacher expenses, Christmas parties, Special event programs and the Family Resource Program that assists families with day to day expenses of a special needs child or that unexpected expense.

The auction takes place annually on the first Saturday in November.
